For 23 years the Tecnológico de Monterrey or Monterrey Tech, has played an integral part in capacity building throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. By providing courses, workshops and seminars on cutting edge topics like urban crime or climate change, Monterrey Tech has empowered agents of change within local communities and reached more than 200,000 people.

Watch Dean of Social Development, Laura Ruiz Perez, in this video session, as she discusses concrete ways in which Monterrey Tech and the World Bank Institute collaborate, working with local governments in reducing urban crime within Mexico and the rest of Latin America.  Perez also discusses the ways in which Monterrey Tech relies on the World Bank, especially for best practices and links to social networks. She suggests that finding the proper balance in working together is a key aspect of moving forward into the future where the need of technology in education is ever increasing.
